The Plaza de Armas of Cusco is perhaps the most beautiful square in the colonial style of the whole of South America, was built on the existing Inca square from which it departed the four main paths of the Inca Empire (the Suyos). Evangelization forced the local population was never able to completely eradicate the previous culture.
