Sarajevo is a special city, a crossroad of cultures, located in a region that has been battered repeatedly. The short century saw in Sarajevo the spark that ignited World War I and then, seventyfour years after its conclusion, Sarajevo became the theater for the longest siege in modern history, committed for ethnic reasons not too different from those that led to the beginning of the first World war.
Today, after those tragic years of siege the city is reborn, although there still are open wounds, seen and unseen. The city has once again become the cultural center of the past, producing world famous artists such as Goran Bregovic, Ivo Andric, Emir Kusturica. On the bridge Festina Lente, a futuristic structure created to represent the "new" Sarajevo, this girl dressed like many others in Europe, after having devoted much time to her Smartphone, is contemplating a quiet winter sunset over the Miljacka river, and seems to be leaning towards the future.
