Santa Luce (Pisa) They called it the Wind Farm, the 23.4 Megawatt plant, distributed over 13 wind turbines in the hilly forest behind the village of Santa Luce. When it was inaugurated it was the largest wind farm in all of Tuscany and northern Italy. Even if surpassed by other newer ones, it still remains a modern system which benefits the citizens of the small municipalities in the area. Specifically, Santa Luce, thanks also to two other biomass plants, won the Klima Energy Award. Its citizens have welcomed the wund turbines because the road system of the forest was improved to install it. From walks to search of mushrooms, the area is now more experienced.
