A few years ago in Pisa people complained that tourism was too concentrated around the universally known leaning tower. Especially the organized tours were a sort of hit and run: visit to the Piazza dei Miracoli, photo of the tower, selfie and souvenir photo miming holding it and then running away towards Florence, sixty kilometers away.

Terre di Pisa, the local tourist promotion company, has made many efforts in recent years to extend the visitor's range of action, starting with the reactivation of the walkways along the ancient city walls, a way to see the tower and Piazza dei Miracoli from a higher point of view, but also to discover lesser-known corners of the city.

But above all, living a city to be discovered on foot and in a relatively short time, even in just 36 hours, living it like the locals, "getting lost" among the alleys of the medieval centre, secret squares, historical monuments, important museums and local flavours, from street food to the restaurant where you can taste authentic Tuscan cuisine.
